Whilst marriage proposals happen for many people only once in a lifetime, there are some people in Barnsley for whom they are all in a day’s work.
Having assisted on The Mall Alhambra’s “Ask Me” Point for two years this month, Lynne Smith has had to answer a whole host of questions that are unrelated to the shopping centre’s retail outlets.
Lynne says: “People ask the funniest questions, including for my hand in marriage and many wanting the winning lottery numbers, if only we had them!”
Lynne who lives in Cudworth worked in retail before taking her position on the “Ask Me Point” and she is sharing her second anniversary at the Mall Alhambra with General Manager, Mark Broadhead.
Mark, who has over 27 years industry experience and previously occupied a retail operations position, joined The Mall Alhambra to aid the shopping centre’s integration with the surrounding community, working alongside Town Centre management and council interests.
Mark says: “Since joining The Mall Alhambra two years ago, an easy, caring and dynamic approach has been developed, working with our retailers to ensure that we provide our customers with the highest possible level of service. As a result we now attract an average of 180,000 visitors a week and have created approximately 530 local jobs - a fantastic achievement!”
