went for a day with my family, really enjoyed it, relaxing place, best coffee I've had in ages. The kids fed the geese!! - big ones!! the wife looked in the clothes shope and there was lots of history stuff to see. The guy that built the hamlet was born in the village and his dad was a farmer, very intersting chap Tom. Well worth a visit

love the buildings at this place - what barnsley should be looking at rather than building silly coloured bus shelters that will only last 10 - 15 years- take inspiration from these old farm buildings that will be around for the next few 1000. - Check it out, who ever put this hamlet together needs a big pat on the back, well done!

Really enjoyed the visit. My husband loved the food at the cafe as well as my self. The area is all accessible for dissabled users as my husband is in a wheel chair. The womens wear shop 'Pookie' had superb clothes and the staff on the whole site were chirpy and overall extremley helpfull. I will be visiting again soon for aother meal and a look at the watershed furniture and crafts shop.
Thanks to the Horsfield Family

I went with some friends, as we had never been to The Potting Shed Cafe before, not what you would expect, its a super place, waitress service and very mediterranean feel, great for such a wet day we were having.
We ended spending nearly the whole day there!
Furniture/craft shop, Pookie women's wear shop, I even bought a outfit! I found the Plant nursary a lovely suprise, very colourful and lots of plants to choose from.
To add to more shops their is a nail bar, hair dressers, wicker furniture.
A must place to go every age and taste would like the place.

Went there when it was raining last weeek (because we couldn't get into Sheffield). So glad we did. Managed to get some clothes and also some excellent advise on the garden in this terrible weather. Recommended. Will go again. H.

What a great place ! Not far off the motorway, and loads of little individual businesses - like an old world retail park and no high street shops. The food was great in the cafe - more of a bistro really, and managed to buy a few plants - got some really good advice from a very attractive lady called Emma who runs the place.
If you're married, or of the fairer sex, they've got a really smart ladies clothes shop, a haidresser, nail bar and so on..... taking my wife back next week !

Found this wonderful place by accident when I was lost the other day. Booked a table for dinner in the Potting Shed for my wife and I for tonight (Friday). The food was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. It has to be one of the best kept secrets in Yorkshire!!
